Ceylan’s film ‘On the Grasshopper’s Shadow’ to compete at Cannes

Master director Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s TRT production “On the Hills of Dry Grass” will compete at the 76th Cannes Film Festival held from May 16-27. The film, selected for the festival’s main competition section, will have its world premiere at the event. Additionally, other TRT co-productions, including Austrian award-winning director Jessica Hausner’s “Club Zero” and Italian cinema’s important director Alice Rohrwacher’s “La Chimera,” will also be shown at the festival. Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who has previously won awards at the Cannes Film Festival with his films “Winter Sleep,” “Once Upon a Time in Anatolia,” “Distant,” and “Three Monkeys,” is a well-known figure. The main competition jury president for the festival will be Ruben Östlund, the director of the film “Triangle of Sadness.”
