Berlin will not boycott Russian films
The Berlin Film Festival will be held from 16-26 February 2023.

The Berlin Film Festival has followed in the footsteps of the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, announcing that it will not boycott Russian films at next year’s event.
“Even in the face of Russia’s murderous attacks, we have no intention of excluding filmmakers and cultural workers from the festival,” the organization said in a statement.
However, it was stated that as long as Russia continues its brutal war against Ukraine, Russian state institutions and delegations, as well as supporting actors of the regime, will not be allowed to participate in the festival.
He called for a boycott of Russian cinema initiated by the Ukrainian Film Academy. This call was supported by Ukrainian filmmakers as well as international organizations such as the European Film Academy and the Polish Film Institute.
The Berlin Film Festival will be held from 16-26 February 2023.
